In a landmark decision, an anti-terrorism court Tuesday handed down four times death punishment to seven accused and life imprisonment to six others in Sialkot case in which two brothers Mughees and Muneeb were brutally lynched in full public view in August last year.
Seven culprits have been sentenced to death on four counts, six sentenced to life in jail while 5 accused have been freed. Former DPO Waqar Ahmed Chohan and 9 policemen have been jailed for three years.
Talking to Media, The grandfather of the lynched youth Muneeb and Mughees thanked the media and the Chief Justice for doing justice.
He said the day (of the verdict) comes as a sad day as it reflects on the overall deterioration of values in society. He said his (grand)sons were lynched in front of the whole village while not a single voice for raised to stop the cruelty.
